high...

there are things in life that we have to strive for ardently in order to achieve our goals. but there are also other things that are given to you in a silver platter. i am not saying mine was given to me downright. but what God has given me after so much hardship and tons of prayers is really amazing. i thank God for giving me BEL...

feb. 1, that was yesterday was most memorable for me and love of my life. supposedly we are to attend a school activity in ratsky malate. it turned out that the venue was ratsky morato. way too far from here. and so i pleaded if we could instead have dinner at malate and spend the rest of the night in the area also. good thing she agreed. and so after having two bottles of colt with shine and bvhoy in tokdo grill (the usual hang out where else), i met them (she was with jen, her good friend and our classmate also) in front of tia maria's.

malate restaurants have come up with innovative scheme of putting up tables and chairs outside their premises to accommodate more customers. so come night time, you'll see people eating along the side streets. althougg it's not closed for traffic, the area is still a sight to behold with all the lights, jolly people, bystanders, yuppies up for gimmicks, foreigners with their hooker partners and almost all people in all walk of life.

we had grilled chicken wings and pork liver. the area where we ate has been my favorite resto for the past months. our good friend and classmate rhea muana introduced us to the place. she used to eat there after having her dancing lessons near the area. the food was superb. i had asthma attacks right after though since we seated near the grill area. smoke billows through the air i have no choice but to swallow them.

after eating we hit the baywalk. three of us. bvhoy came along after we were already seated in one of the resto (anthology by the bay) where frodo like waiters/waitresses serve the customers. it was a night of good music, a breath of fresh air of the manila bay ( i wonder why the smell was not offensive last night), subtle conversations and just a night of pure enjoyment. the band was just right. singing songs just enough to mesmerize the audience. the area was fully packed. there were no more rooms to accommodate customers. koreans and other balikbayans enjoy the sights and sounds. the baywalk at night is really a different story to tell than what you see of it during the day. it transforms itself into an entertainment mecca by night and a laid back park during the day. the lights and the busy people around just add glitter and glamour in the area.

after enjoying the sights and sounds of baywalk, jen went home with her friend. bvhoy found his way home too while me and bel found ours too...

and so life is like a box of chocolate. you'll never know what you'll gonna get next....
