As the year comes to a close, I cant help but be nostalgic of what has transpired to my life and my family. I was thinking of good things that happened to me for 2012 and I was overwhelmed by the blessings and good things that came our way. For that I am grateful to the Lord. In the same way, I also think about bad things but then I could not remember anything. Well maybe there are too but are just too petty and overpowered by good things. I have to thank the Lord for making life so easy and a breeze. What more I could ask for?
Another thing extra special for this year is that I am able to rekindle my fondness in blogging. And comes with it is meeting new blogger friends which makes blogging and blog hopping exciting and more educational. I admit I am thrilled and always look forward everyday to having updates from co bloggers that I forgot I also have to write my thoughts too. I admit too that I spend plenty of time reading your blog guys than writing my own. And most especially I'd like to thank you for having find friends here in the blogging world. With the PBO there is a common bond that will embrace all of us. Although I will not be able to physically support you guys, in my heart, in my mind and in my thoughts I am for it. So I wave my hat to those who have started the PBO. I will find time this 2013 to join in one of our activities. I promise :)
For 2013, Ate Bob and Baby Dax will still be a big part of this blog. After all, this blog is about my two pretty and lovely daughters. While I will be spending the other half of 2013 away from them which makes me sad just thinking about it, I will still continue to drop a line or two on my adventures as Daddy Cool.
For the last hurrah of 2012, thank you blogger friends. You mean so much to Daddy Cool!
For 2013, let's continue to be an inspiration to our family and to our country!
Baby Dax says Merry Christmas Everyone!
Ate Bob says Happy New Year to All!
Altogether now, we say "Op Magadodo, lulu lala, kukurokuko Mwah Mwah Tsup Tsup"
Bye everyone, gotta go to Farmers to buy prawns for the Media Noche tomorrow!
Just before the year (not the world :) is coming to an end, Ate Bob gave us another reason to celebrate. She won 1st place in the singing competition for the pre school category in her school. Another proud daddy moment for me! I took the day off yesterday to give her support. Actually, it's her nth time in joining singing competition in her school but I always get the same giddy and tensed feeling. It really is a sigh of relief after she is done with her routine. After all her opponents were done singing, I was sure that our Ate Bob will win. Sorry to the rest of the parents of the 9 other pre schoolers. lols. Here's the video link as i posted it in you tube Ate Bob's version of Listen by Beyonce.
Curtsy (according to her) together with the winners.
Sorry for the blurry pictures. Her p.a. doesnt know how to get one correctly.
Last Wednesday while I was having a great time in Camsur, wifeys' text came as no surprise (yabang mode ng onti). While I have some misgivings that Ate Bob will not win, at the back of my mind I was certainly hoping that she will win so that she can represent her school again. And yes, she did win in the declamation contest. Our practice the week before paid off. I told her before I left about having a high level of confidence the moment her name is called. And that's what she did according to wifey. She was a picture of yabang with her head held high at the same time cuteness when she started to do curtsy and deliver her lines. Way to go Ate Bob. Papa is very proud of you! When I got home last Thursday, I bought her favorite ice cream to celebrate and then went to Tom's World as her reward.
The trip in Camsur was the usual break your neck. Schedule was full but was able to squeeze in some good times though.
Work first before pleasure. A posterity pose with the rest of the engineers.
That's me in black shirt 3rd from the left with Mambulao Bay in the background.
In the surfing capital of Camsur called Bagasbas Beach? Waves were too small though. Lols.
In CWC. I did not do some wakeboarding the sun was scorching hot that time :)
That's for my year end trip. Then, last sunday McDonalds just beside our house was officially open. Truth to tell, Baby Dax wanted to have her breakfast there. However, due to the line that reaches more than a kilometer, you'll go high and dry before you can have your meal.
Here's a pic taken from the window. Little blurry because of the mosquito screen. Lols. Maybe tonight, Baby Dax can have her Mcdo burgers.
Mahirap maging isang magulang.
In our own words, ginatamyaw ta guid ikaw it masinadyahon nga adlaw sa imo nga birthday makaron.
Good luck sa akin nito. This means, i can switch off the lights in the garage at iwas gastos na din.
Pili nuts here I come.
But you guessed it right, it's my 8 year anniversary in the blogosphere.
And to borrow Ate Bob's endearment every night before we go to sleep, "Op Magadodo pagogo, lulu lala, kukurukuko" (I love you so much. Now and Forever!).
Happy 8 Year Anniversary sa Daddy Cool at Happy Birthday Mama!
Finally, after such a long time of planning to visit the museum, we were able to drop by one mid afternoon en route to Divisoria. Located at the heart of Metro Manila, the old looking building at the back of Luneta Park and just across Manila City Hall stands majestic from the outside and even more grand in the inside with its vast collections.
Entrance fee P150.00 for oldies and P50.00 for students. I thought it was too expensive but it was worth it when you are done exploring the place. You should allocate your one whole day if you wanted to take a closer look at the display. Since I am not into those, I was kinda tired with the three hour trip I have with Ate Bob.
The one I appreciate the most is the super big painting of Juan Luna "Spolarium". I think it is the best showcase of NM as it is located right on the entrance door. It's super big the frame is from the floor up until the high ceiling.
Here are some of the pictures.
The view from the outside while Ate Bob tries to catch some city butterflies.
NM has two buildings. Each with 4 floors. You have to consult the directory so as to get to the destination of your choice.
The 1st and 2nd floors are solely dedicated to ship wreck finds. Quite spooky and eerie inside. You have to have a company when taking a look at the pieces
Ship wreck finds.
Plenty of jars in the ship wreck.
I dunno what are these but they look like ghost.
Part of NM's collection are these. Some are bones of whale shark (super duper big), and other mammals.
This one too.
And a lot of painting.
And more painting.
Ate Bob behind the glass with seeds of Mahogany (huh?)
And that's me. lols. I asked Ate Bob to take my picture and she zoomed it. Thus no background. lols.
There you have it. Next post will be about our visit to Bamboo Organ Church in Las Pinas.
The trip leading to sunday school over the weekend is just a quick one. Then out of the blue, Ate Bob asked me the question if the road end? We arrived in the church and still I have no answer for my five year old.
Soaked in mind-boggling realizations lately, I can't help but correlate Bob's question to the journey of life. The journey of life is a lot like the road. Some roads are rough, some are smooth and some bumpy and with potholes. Challenges and problems come along the way but you always continue to tread the path leading to somewhere. There are crossings along the way we need to choose which way to go. Sometimes, we take the wrong one but eventually we turn back and find the road that is best for us. At other times, there might be dead end but then we tend to go back from where we started and find another one. It is a never ending process of negotiating the roads we chose. Along the way, we commit mistakes but it is always nice to rise up to the challenge and continue with our journey.
The road I am taking with my girls maybe bumpy at times but I am making sure that they will take the right path. I just wish that in the future they may end up in the road that will bring them happiness. Whatever path they may choose, it's the journey along the way that matters. And if the journey and the trip are filled with happiness, then maybe it is the right road after all.
As a doting father to my girls, I realized that child rearing is really not about worldly things but about making each moment with them extra special. Teaching and making them happy with even the littlest thing there is. My only wish for my girls is that they grow up to be HAPPY PERSONS. It wouldn't hurt if they become doctors though. lols. And it wouldn't hurt some more if they become humanitarian doctors working for the United Nations (i have to encourage them some more regarding this. lols).
Last night, me and the girls paid tribute to our dead relatives and friends. After some late night trip to nearby SM for some Liwanag candles, we lighted it in the garage in memory of our loved ones who passed away. May the flame and smoke reach the high heavens and comfort their soul. For Lola Tansing, For Uncle Bebot, For Lola Ula and Lola Ebi, For Auntie Abing and Uncle Bildo and to my dear friend Kendrick, these candles are for you!
Finally, we were able to sneak out a short trip in The National Library of the Philippines. Located at Kalaw St right beside Luneta Park, it will be celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. I dunno the exact date :). We were exempted in the frisking as I have my own ID I got sometime in 2010. Ate Bob and I went straight to the Children's Section in the 2nd floor but there in the lobby you will be greeted by some haphazardly made up exhibit. Some facts and figures about the history of NLP and other artifacts worth looking at. Some good finds are the original manuscript of Fili and Noli.
At the lobby of NLP.
At the Exhibit Area in the 2nd Floor.
At the ground floor lobby are some exhibits about China. China? I dunno. lols.
It's halloween time. For the longest time also, Ate Bob has been planning her outfit for this year. She was adamant that she wanted to become a ghost and that she will scare her all her classmates (at least that was what she was thinking). Although I wanted her to become a witch as it is easier to find an outfit in the mall. But she was insistent. And the problem is it is difficult to find a ghost costume. It pays to have an in house dressmaker though. The night before the party, wifey just bought 2 yards of cheap white cloth and hours before the party, Tita net was tapping and kicking her sewing machine to finish Ate Bob's Dress. Our little duckling on the other hand has a mind of her own too. She wants to be a fairy. Well, we just bought wings for her as there was plenty of fairy dresses in her Ate's closet.
And guess what, she won in the costume contest! How did that happen? When I asked wifey why (I did not attend as I was on official travel in Tarlac), she told me that everyone in the party were wearing witches and dracula costume and she was the only one wearing one. Oh well, we had a sumptuous lunch courtesy of Jolibee's GC (bucket of chicken, spag, fries and floats) as her prize for winning the costume contest.
Ate Bob receiving her GC's from Jolibee for the best in costume.

With the foggy background, you can't see the lake and the crater.
At the Adventure Jungle.
To pacify the wounded heart and soul of Ate Bob for the sudden departure of her p.a.. (see: http://thirdy25.blogspot.com/2012/10/one-liner-new-pa.html), I brought her to Tagaytay over the weekend. It was quick and brief at the same time since it kept on drizzling the whole time.
Initially we planned on going to national museum and then to the national library (It will have to wait next weekend) but was changed at the last minute when I mentioned to her if she wanted take a look at Taal Volcano and Taal Lake. We went to Picnic Grove as there was no other place to go to have a better view of the lake. I was wrong. The fog was thick and the lake and its crater is barely visible. But you can still see it.
She was super excited as it was her first time. Even though it was drizzling, people still came in droves in Tagaytay. We paid P50.00 each for the entrance fee which I think is not reasonable at all because the toilets are not well maintained. The staircase going down to the little huts doesnt have railings. If your a grumpy old woman, you'll end up at the bottom of the ridge if you dont have a companion negotiating the stairs. There's no trash can in the huts which makes the place dirty because irresponsible people throws their trash anywhere.
Just the same, me and Bob were able to unwind in the windy, foggy and cool Tagaytay over the weekend. Baby Dax stayed home because look at her! She has swollen eyes, clogged nose and profuse coughing.
It was an emotionally draining day for the kids over the weekend because Ate Bob's p.a. for like five years decided to leave us (fired). She was uncontrollable and was crying profusely before she went to sleep the other night while reminiscing her days with her yaya. But it was with Baby Dax that I was concerned the most because her crying was longer with her Ate Bob and complete with swollen eyes and running nose (it wasnt her yaya after all. she's got her own but I guess she's overly being symphatetic with her Ate Bob). After like more than 20 minutes of crying I hugged her and told her that Ate Bob's yaya is just on vacation. Here's what happened.
Baby Dax : Papa, can we buy a new Ate Bans (Bob's p.a) in Waltermart?
Ate Bob : (still crying), Baby Dax, dont you know that you cant buy Ates in waltermart. They're humans. Humans are not for sale! (and more crying).
Baby Dax : Please papa! (and cried some more).
Me: Okay, I'll buy a new one tomorrow.
Then she stopped crying.
Now, I got a big problem. lols. I cant bring back the yaya because I was the one who fired her. lols some more :)
I meet a lot of people in my everyday journey and it never ceases to amaze me that each one has a unique trait from the other. In all of these, one person stands out not because she is pretty, super amiable and very likeable but because she is super thoughtful. Now my entry is aptly entitled most thoughtful girl because of her. And I have to write something about her even though she will not be able to see this (oh well, nobody in my office or my friends nor my relatives know that I am into blogging ages ago).
Although we were from the same school in college, I was way older that her and so we did not bumped on the hallowed grounds of the campus. But I know her older sisters (now, I am old I guess. lols). It was only here in my present work that I was able to meet her and we exchanged pleasantries that I know her older siblings including her Mom as our college secretary way before (I am not gonna spill my student number :).
Through the years that I come to know her, she has never failed to amaze me as she always exudes that positive smile and bubbly personality. You would occasionally bump into her in all the floors in the building and people will gather around her and have a good laugh. Not that she is comical but just sheer goody-goody laugh as she has this infectious smile. I betcha she knows all the people in every floor of the building including the manung guards and cleaning utilities.
During birthdays of our office mates, you would also see her giving out small tokens and gifts with a smile on her face. And thus, in every floor every time there's is a birthday, she would be invited all the time. A thing which seldom happens to others including me. She has magic I guess with people maybe because she is an ilongga and has this propensity to be friendly by way of how she talks and makes gestures. Even in baptismals and birthdays of my officemates family, you would see her picture there as she is always invited to become ninang. thus, come mondays, her facebook account would be tagged by others with pictures of her gracing social events. :)
A frequent flyer too, she would always go home to her hometown in iloilo and it never fails that everytime she's back you will know it because she has native food brought with her. and the pantry will be full of happy people eating sweets from iloilo.
In a short span of time that she was here maybe more than two years or more, I myself have received countless gifts from her. She is really cool and giving even though I am not able to return the favor once.
To Ysa the most thoughtful girl I've met, I wish to the Lord to grant you more happiness in the same way that you make other people happy and light and care free and more. I also wish you lots of luck in your next endeavor in life as a teacher. I know that you will inspire more people with your wits and of course your positive attitude in life.
One last thing, I hope you find the man of your life too. Cheers!
I am surrounded by noble teachers way before I have the capacity to think of what I will be when I grow up. My mom was a teacher, all my aunts (all of them and has retired for good) in my mother side were teachers including my grand mother who I loved so dearly. I have such regards for teachers way back then because of their dedication to their work and for the mere fact that I was sent to college because of my mom's job as a teacher. If given the chance to, I would like to teach one day and become a teacher myself. Hurrah for all the teachers! Job well done!
Ate Bob was asked to give a surprise number to her teachers during the World Teachers Day Celebration last Friday, October 5, 2012. Here she is singing "Rolling In the Deep".
Just after the girls woke up today, they hurriedly looked for their bubble toy which we bought yesterday. This time, our 5 year old Ate Bob does not like to play with Baby Dax as she keeps on chasing and popping all the bubbles her Ate Bob is making. She was so pissed off because Baby Dax would not stop following her all around the house to pop her bubbles. Then I hear her say in a really angry voice, "No mooore popping of bubbles. It's against the LAW".
There. Baby Dax is a law breaker this time. :)
The girls last friday just before their musical "The Firefly".
Before I entered into another level in my life's journey, my friends were my constant companion during my single days life come high or hell waters. They have been my pillar of strength when I was down in the murky waters and at the same time were with me when I was brimming with pride during those addictive highs in my journey. And so, I am making this tribute to them as I have not been constantly on their side when they need me most as I am pre occupied with my kids. I know in my heart that even though we dont get to meet and talk most of the time, the bond that has held us tight during the tumultous times of our lives will forever be etched in our hearts and minds.
Cheers to a long lasting friendship from infinity and beyond Here they are in their recent facebook profile pictures.
Bvhoy and Shy - these two are the closest to me. Probably because we somehow experienced life's blows almost at the same time. And so we spent most of the time together prior to days when we had our own separate lives. Talk about having a partner and all that changes. Which means that during that time, the three of us were single and virtually has all the time in our lives to sleep together, eat together, drink together, travel together and just about anything under the sun. We were inseparable then. Well, except of course during day time when we have to work in our respective offices. But other than that, when the sun sets at Roxas Blvd, we were on each others back. Bvhoy currently is now with Ann (our good friend as well with good singing voice and eventually become the godmom of Baby Dax). They just opened up their first business venture together in 5th Avenue called hotdogs and buko something. On the other hand, Shy is super duper happy in Chicago with her one and only love Jegjeg.

Tisoy - I could not find a decent picture as this black thingy doesnt have a facebook account. Nonetheless, Tisoy never fails to amaze me with his kitchen skills. And so I love him when he is in the house we are surely in for a great treat. Tisoy has this alarming looks not because of his color but because of his eyes. He means what he says so dont mess with him. A person with firm beliefs and principle. He is now happily married to Lora which eventually became my officemate. They are blessed with two pretty lovely daughters too.
no photo :)
Shine - she is my female version. the most hopeless romantic of all and has the angelic voice. dont let her start talking or you'll end up falling in love with her that's what she says to first timers. which is true because she gets what she wants during first dates. nevertheless, i see this lady fall in and out of love and she can be the most lovable and caring of all. She is back in her hometown in Masbate working as a teacher and a part time dj and doing some humanitarian works on the side. I am proud of her for taking the route and spending more of her time to her daughter Patricia. As to her love life, she is the female version of Lester I lost track of her too.
Shine in her current FB profile pic and with Patricia in timeline pic
Gina - I should say the most opinionated and assertive of all my friends but on the other hand the most weakest when it comes to love life. This means that although you can see her in her m ost ferocious attitude, you can also see her in her most disheveled state of mind and body. She is now (not) happily married to our friend Milner and they are blessed with the super cutie Sofie.
Gina in her current FB pic and with Sofie in her timeline pic (where's milner?lols)
Lester - the John Prats in the group according to him. Every gathering, he brings in different kind of girls. Pretty ones, chubby ones, dark ones, tall ones, name it he's got it. I dunno what is with this guy when in fact we call him tweety bird for his height and you know what else. lols. But the most kind and so amiable amongst the group. Dont mention about lates and not showing up though he tops the list. Lester is now connected with a multi national company as an IT specialist and I lost track of who he's hooking up with.
Lester in his current FB profile and timeline pic (no girls this time. lols)
Arnie and DJ - the two stooges I used to call them. Although these two are inseparable and has sometimes a life of their own apart from our drinking spree they have become my constant buddies too. Arnie is now happily married to May and they are blessed with two cute sons, Argylle and Aethan. DJ on the other hand is missing as of press time. He's got two sons too, David and Daniel from her estranged wife Karen . The last time I know, Leng was his GF. Wherever he is right now, I wish him well.
Arnie in his current FB profile pic and with Mae and Aethan in his timeline pic.
Madie, Nhet and Janice - these girls have been a big part of my life too. Madie is happy with Pao this time and I think will get married soon. Nhet is currently working at a call center. I thought she'll end up as a doctor and Janice according to her FB status is working in Pandi LGU. I think she is also reviewing for the Bar exams.
Madie with Pao.
Janice and Janice Associates
Pretty Nhet Nhet.
Whatever path they took and wherever they are right now, at the bottom of my heart, I wanna say thanks for spending your precious time with me. Until we meet again buddies.
